Porter James was founded in late 2020 by Joshua Heares of Auckland, New Zealand — a city the label still calls home today.

Their approach to design is centred around continual refinement, ensuring each collection builds upon the last. This results in garments that are intentional, easy to wear, and modular in nature.

Intrinsically drawn to shape and fabrication, Porter’s style can be described as an understated yet contemporary edit of classic menswear. A vision they continue to improve upon with each release. 

Inspiration is drawn from a number of disciplines, both past and present, while championing lived experiences and Kiwi upbringings.
